purple stone with sparkles
Alright, let’s gab about them purple stones with sparkles, ya know, the kind that catch your eye when the sun hits ’em just right. I ain’t no fancy rock expert or nothin’, but I’ve seen a few pretty ones in my time.
One time, down at the market, this fella was sellin’ rocks. Said they was called “lepidolite” from some far-off place, Madagascar, I think he called it. This one was purple, kinda like a lilac bush, but shiny, like it had glitter all over it. He said it was good for calmin’ your nerves, makin’ ya feel all peaceful-like. Don’t know about all that, but it sure was pretty to look at. Held it in my hand, felt smooth and cool. He wanted a pretty penny for it though, more than I was willin’ to spend, that’s for sure.
Then there’s them other purple rocks, the ones everybody knows. Amethyst, they call ‘em. They come in all sorts of purples, light and dark, like the ones from way up north, Siberia, he said. Folks used to think they was real special, good enough for kings and queens. I can see why. They’re sparkly, just like them lepidolite ones, but maybe a bit more… royal-lookin’, if ya know what I mean. My niece has a necklace with a little amethyst, catches the light real nice when she wears it to church.
- Now, there’s another one, a new kinda rock they call sugilite. Ain’t seen many of them myself, but they say it’s real rare. Purple too, but with swirls and spots, like paint mixed up funny. Folks are payin’ big money for it, I hear. Guess cause it’s so hard to find.
- And then there’s this other one called charoite. Real deep purple, looks like it’s got white lines running through it. Heard tell it was so purple, folks thought it was dyed at first. When they polish it up, it looks all swirly, like marble, kinda fancy. I saw a piece once at the county fair, pretty as you please, but again, too expensive for my taste.
My grandson, he’s a collector of sorts, you know. He told me about some other purple rocks. Rhodolite garnet, he calls ‘em. Part of that garnet family, though most of them are red or orange, these ones got a purple tinge to ‘em. He’s got a whole box of them rocks, shiny little things. He goes on and on about them, but I just nod and smile. They all look like pretty pebbles to me.
And don’t forget fluorite. Now, that one ain’t always purple, comes in all sorts of colors, like a rainbow they say. But the purple ones are real popular, sometimes mixed with green. Makes you think of a spring meadow, all colorful and bright.
So, there you have it, a whole bunch of purple stones with sparkles. Some are cheap, some are expensive, some are easy to find, some are rare as hen’s teeth. But they all got one thing in common – they’re pretty to look at. And maybe, just maybe, they do a little somethin’ more than that, maybe they bring a little bit of calm, or a little bit of joy, or a little bit of somethin’ special into your life. I wouldn’t know for sure, but they sure are nice to look at.
Whether it’s that lepidolite that’s supposed to calm ya down, or that amethyst that looks fit for a queen, or any of them other fancy rocks, they all got their own kind of sparkle. And sometimes, that’s all you need, ain’t it? Just a little bit of sparkle to brighten up your day. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go make some supper. All this talk about rocks has made me hungry.
And remember, if you like ‘em and can afford ‘em, get ‘em. If not, well, there are plenty of other pretty things in this world to enjoy.
Anyways, that’s all I know about them sparkly purple stones. Hope it made some sense to ya.
